WERO ACCEPTOR SOLUTION
Turnkey Wero payment solution for acceptors
Banks or Payment
Service Providers looking for new revenue streams or value-added complementary services can
offer Wero, an instant and secure payment solution to their merchant clients.
The Wero Acceptor Solution establishes a secure connection between the Wero payment scheme and the PSP, while offering the latter a flexible platform to manage merchants and their payments.

Why offer Wero acceptance to your merchant clients?
Provide merchants - and their own clients - with a flexible,
secure and instant payment method
If the start of Wero was mainly centered around
peer-to-peer payments, other payment use cases have since been either rolled out or in preparation to be launched.
Invoice payments, e-commerce, POS, and more: merchants can
take full advantage of an instant payments solution that is flexible, secure
and cross-border.
From a PSP’s perspective, providing merchants with a turnkey
platform that enables them to accept Wero payments offers a valuable
opportunity to enhance their service offering. This approach allows PSPs to
support their merchant clients quickly and efficiently, while requiring limited internal resources and short implementation timelines.

How it works
LUXHUB as Technical Service Provider
LUXHUB acts as TSP within the Wero acceptance ecosystem, connecting merchants, Acceptor PSPs, and EPI Company. By centralizing the implementation and related activities, including certification, LUXHUB minimizes technical effort for PSPs while providing merchants with a self-service portal for managing their Wero acceptance operations. The solution also supports additional integrations, such as MSPs and POS-related services, for specific acceptance scenarios.
Autonomous
solution requiring little technical integration on the PSP side,
enabling the PSP to concentrate on the business,
A multilangual portal that empowers merchants to self-manage their own users, shops, payments and post-payment operations,
Supports various single immediate payment use cases and technical integration modes available within Wero.

Why LUXHUB for Wero acceptance
A proven platform, not a build project

Questions teams ask about the Wero Acceptor Solution
All you need to know about Wero and LUXHUB's Wero Acceptor Solution.
Wero is a pan-European digital payment wallet developed and operated by EPI Company (European Payments Initiative). It enables consumers to make instant person-to-person (P2P) and person-to-merchant (P2M) payments directly from their bank account via a mobile application, without the need for card networks. Wero is designed as a European alternative to global payment schemes, providing a Made-in-Europe instant payment solution built on the SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst) infrastructure.
Wero is built on the SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst) scheme, meaning every Wero payment is processed as a SEPA Instant Credit Transfer. This positions Wero as a consumer-friendly front-end on top of the underlying SCT Inst payment rail. The Instant Payments Regulation mandates that EU PSPs offer instant euro payment services, and Wero is one of the key instruments driving consumer adoption of instant payments. Banks deploying Wero simultaneously advance their IPR compliance and their customer digital payment proposition.
The Wero Acceptor Solution (WASO) requires little effort from the acceptor Payment Service Provider (PSP).
Acting as Technical Service Provider (TSP), LUXHUB centralizes the implementation of the Wero acceptance service, including the technical exchanges with EPI Company and the related certification activities. Merchant onboarding, payment processing and post-payment operations are all provided through the LUXHUB platform, so the PSP does not need to build or maintain these capabilities in-house.
The PSP's remaining integration scope is limited and defined
with LUXHUB at the start of the project and covers flows in which a connection
with the PSP backend is either optional (e.g. additional fraud checks) or
required (e.g. credit transfer for refund, retrieval of settlement reports).
This allows PSPs to concentrate on the business side of their Wero offering
rather than on technical development.
The Wero Acceptor Solution is a Wero-ready platform that can be deployed within weeks.
Because LUXHUB already has established connectivity with EPI Company, and the merchant portal and APIs are already operational, PSPs avoid the long implementation cycle of an in-house build. The exact timeline depends on the payment use cases and technical integration modes the PSP wishes to offer its merchant clients.
PSPs can contact LUXHUB for a project-specific estimate.
No. With the Wero Acceptor Solution, the acceptor PSP does not need to build a direct technical connection to EPI Company.
LUXHUB, acting as Technical Service Provider, manages all technical exchanges between the PSP and EPI Company, the operator of the Wero payment scheme. The PSP keeps its contractual relationship with EPI Company as a participant in the Wero scheme.
This model separates scheme participation, which remains with the Acceptor PSP, from technical connectivity, which is mutualized through LUXHUB.
Yes. Merchants served by an acceptor PSP can access the Wero Acceptor Solution either through the Wero Merchant Portal or through dedicated APIs.
The Wero Merchant Portal is a multi-language self-service portal. Through it, merchants manage their own users and shops, create payment requests, and handle post-payment operations such as refunds, chargebacks and disputes. The Merchant API offer the same capabilities to merchants who prefer to connect their own systems directly part or all the solution capabilities.
In both cases, merchants remain clients of their PSP, while LUXHUB provides the underlying technical platform.
ERP and e-commerce systems can connect a merchant to the Wero Acceptor Solution through the provided Merchant API. Merchants can for instance create Wero payment requests directly from their ERP or e-commerce platform and follow each payment throughout its lifecycle. Payment requests can be shared with customers as a QR code or payment link, supporting use cases such as invoice payments and online checkout.
POS terminals as well as some turnkey e-commerce platforms would typically require an integration of the same API by a Merchant Service Provider (MSP) who provides those channels to the merchant. Depending on the use case, the MSP connects to the LUXHUB platform through API to enable various e-commerce capabilities or POS terminal integration.
The Wero Acceptor Solution follows the standard Wero scheme model, in which LUXHUB acts as Technical Service Provider and does not change the contractual relationships of the scheme itself.
The merchant contracts Wero acceptance with its acceptor PSP, as it would for any other payment method. The acceptor PSP holds the contractual relationship with EPI Company as a participant in the Wero scheme, and engages LUXHUB as its Technical Service Provider. Where specific use cases such as POS terminal integration are required, the merchant may also contract with a Merchant Service Provider (MSP).
LUXHUB's relationships with EPI Company, merchants and MSPs are technical. This structure keeps the PSP at the center of its merchant relationships.
The Wero Acceptor Solution provides acceptor PSPs with a fully managed technical service for offering Wero to their merchant clients.
The solution includes:
- Certified connectivity with EPI Company,
- the Wero Merchant Portal and Merchant APIs covering the following capabilities:
- merchant onboarding and management,
- payment request and payment lifecycle management,
- post-payment operations such as refunds, chargebacks and dispute handling,
- ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the platform,
- first-line support for integration questions and second-line support for operational aspects.
The PSP remains responsible for its commercial relationship with merchants, including its Wero offering and pricing, as well as its participation in the Wero scheme with EPI Company. It also keeps first-line operational support towards its merchants and its regulatory obligations as a licensed payment service provider.
This division of roles allows PSPs to add Wero to their merchant offering with limited internal resources.
